Shay Aziz, an experienced application engineer at Cimatron Israel for 26 years, specializes in customizing post processors for CNC machines, ensuring efficient and reliable machining while providing technical support and training to customers across Israel.

Meet the Team: Shay Aziz

For more than two decades, Shay Aziz, application engineer at Cimatron Israel, has been helping manufacturers solve complex machining challenges and get the most from their technology.

Based in Rishon LeZion, near Tel Aviv, Shay has been part of the Cimatron team for 26 years. His work focuses primarily on developing and customizing post processors, ensuring that customers can run their CNC machines efficiently, accurately, and reliably in real production environments.

“My main goal is to customize post processors so that they are reliable, efficient, and easy to use in real production environments,” Shay says. “A well-built post processor saves time, prevents errors, and ensures stable and accurate machining.”

Shay works closely with customers across Israel, providing technical support, training, and on-site assistance. His expertise spans a wide range of CNC machines and controllers — from 3-axis to advanced 5- and 6-axis machines, including angle heads, interchangeable head systems, and MTM machines.

“I enjoy finding the right technical solution for each customer, particularly when working with complex machines and advanced controller technologies,” Shay says. “I truly enjoy my work and the ongoing opportunity to learn, solve problems, and help customers succeed.”

In addition to customer support, Shay represents Cimatron at industry exhibitions in Israel and delivers professional software demonstrations and seminars for manufacturers exploring new solutions.

Manufacturing has always been part of Shay’s life. His father owned a wire EDM cutting services company, where Shay grew up surrounded by machines and production challenges.

“From a very young age, I grew up around machines, production floors, and real manufacturing challenges. The business was part of our daily life, and my father was my first mentor,” Shay says. “He taught me not only the technical aspects of machining, but also responsibility, commitment to quality, and dedication to customers.”

After earning his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, he joined the family business — and that’s where he first encountered Cimatron as a customer.

Not long after, he was offered a position at Cimatron.

“My father told me to try it for three months,” Shay says. “Those three months somehow turned into 26 years. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I found not just a job, but a professional home — a place where I could continue to learn, solve complex challenges, support customers, and grow with the industry.”

Outside of work, Shay enjoys playing basketball, watching TV, and spending time with his family. He is married to Michal, a kindergarten teacher, and they have three children: Yuval, Raz, and Roni.

“Before my father passed away, he told me that encouraging me to take that step was one of the happiest decisions he had made,” Shay says. “He said he believed I had chosen the right path and that he was proud of the decision — and proud of me.”
