AI-powered Cimatron CAM Agent among new technologies to debut at IMTS 2026
The new Cimatron CAM Agent, which uses agentic AI to help manufacturers make better use of existing resources, is among several innovations Cimatron will introduce at IMTS 2026, taking place September 14–19 in Chicago, Illinois. Developed in collaboration with Limitless Labs, the fully integrated machining strategy agent analyzes part geometry and available tool libraries to generate complete 3-axis toolpaths.
By automatically recognizing machining requirements, recommending strategies, and handling repetitive programming tasks, Cimatron CAM Agent helps manufacturers create reliable CNC programs more efficiently. The technology demonstrates how artificial intelligence can support greater CNC programming automation while accounting for the specific geometry, tooling, and requirements of each job.
“Our new CAM Agent helps manufacturers turn programming knowledge into faster, more consistent CNC programs while reducing repetitive work,” said Simone Bonino, Cimatron’s global product director. “It gives experienced programmers more time to focus on complex work, helps less-experienced employees become productive sooner, and enables shops to expand programming capacity using their existing resources.”
Cimatron will also showcase new capabilities available with Cimatron 2027, which offers new features and improvements for mold and die design, CNC programming, machine simulation, electrode design and production, wire EDM operations, assembly data management, and other core manufacturing workflows.
New technologies featured at IMTS
Cimatron SuperFinish is a new finishing technology developed in conjunction with ModuleWorks to calculate toolpaths directly from exact surface geometry rather than relying on a mesh approximation. The result are highly uniform, mirror-like milled surfaces that can be produced without increased machining time.
Cimatron FeedOptimizer uses tool, machine, and material data to determine the optimal feed rate throughout a toolpath. By adjusting feed rates according to actual cutting conditions, the technology can help reduce cycle times, extend tool life, and protect machinery from excessive loads.
Cimatron product experts will be available throughout the show to discuss industry challenges and demonstrate how the software’s latest innovations support more efficient design, programming, and machining processes.
IMTS attendees are encouraged to visit Cimatron at booth #133255.
