Urban Aeronautics Designs the Next Generation of Military VTOL Aircraft with CimatronE
Feb. 1, 2007
Leverage CimatronE's rich surfacing functionality, powerful simulation capabilities, and outstanding customer support to create the world's first production Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) civilian and military utility aircraft

Givat Shmuel, Israel, – February  01, 2007– Cimatron Limited (NASDAQ: CIMT), a leading provider of integrated CAD/CAM solutions for the toolmaking and manufacturing industries, today announced that Urban Aeronautics has chosen CimatronE to design its innovative X-Hawk aircraft. Urban Aeronautics is collaborating with Bell Helicopters to develop a military version of the aircraft, for use primarily as a troop carrier.

"Creating the urban and military aircraft of the future demanded a rethinking of what we expect from a CAD/CAM package," noted Dr. Rafi Yoeli, Founder and CEO of Urban Aeronautics. "We noted early in the design process, CimatronE’s clear advantages over other software packages in the category.  CimatronE gave us an immediate answer capable of delivering the precise corner-less aeronautical design, handling the massive quantity and intricate blending of surfaces, and delivering a design-to-production perspective that would allow us to plan for cost-effective production even before we created a prototype.  Furthermore, Cimatron’s support has been nothing less than outstanding throughout the design process" he concluded.

"CimatronE is a high performance tool well matched for the aerospace industry," said Danny Haran, CEO of Cimatron. "We've worked hard to create a tool that provides the user with maximum control, while raising productivity through intelligent automation. We look forward to growing with Urban Aeronautics, providing the tools of the future for the aircraft of the future," he continued.
